Why did you choose a destination wedding?
We wanted to bring our family and friends together for a whole weekend. Noonaweena was such a great option because it’s located halfway between our home town of Newcastle and Sydney – where we currently live.
Why did you select that venue?
The grounds at Noonaweena are immaculate, the views are extraordinary and the service is second to none. There’s a certain magic about the venue that captures you from the second you arrive. Needless to say, we booked our wedding in on the spot.
Did you have guests attend and, if so, what was their reaction to a destination wedding?
We had 100 guests attend our wedding, and they all loved the idea of making a weekend out of it.
What is your favourite memory of the day?
We both loved the moment when we returned from having our photos taken, walked into the marquee reception and saw our guests having the time of their lives.
What was the best thing about having a destination wedding?
Feeling like we truly escaped the city and our busy lives. We felt like we were the only people on earth.
What theme or style did you base your wedding decorations on?
We wanted a vintage theme for our wedding.
Did you honeymoon in the same location?
We had a ‘mini-moon’ in the Treetops honeymoon suite at Noonaweena for three days. We’re so glad we took time to unwind after the wedding.
What’s your best piece of advice for a couple planning their own destination wedding?
The best venues will provide you a lot of support and advice. The wonderful staff at Noonaweena did just that, and we couldn’t have had such a perfect day without them.
