You know you’ve had a dream day when your wedding is blessed by a rainbow! Standing on the Silavadee Sun Deck, taking in the breathtaking Gulf of Thailand view, Paweena and Robert couldn’t have hoped for a more auspicious start to the next chapter of their lives.
Even though Paweena was born in Bangkok, the event still carried a destination wedding feel for the bride, with the couple now based in Germany. “We decided to marry somewhere special and beautiful, that feels like family,” she says. “Ko Samui is a beautiful island. Not too big or small, and easy to access for a wedding.”
When they laid eyes on the romantic ocean vistas and exceptional accommodation and facilities at Silavadee, they were smitten. And their trust in the resort team was well-rewarded with a gorgeous afternoon wedding. Lush florals framed that sensational sea view, and a rain shower stopped just in time for the pair to pledge their vows. Love that magical bubble moment!
The couple gives a big thanks to their guests, who flew in from Germany and all over Thailand. “We have no words to express how appreciative we are,” says the bride. Though their 50-strong guest list is considered ‘small’ in Thailand, it was perfect for the pair. “The intimate, family atmosphere is not necessarily something you feel with a big wedding,” says Paweena.
Guests were equally enamoured. “Everyone loved the location, the food, and the family feel,” says Paweena. The mouthwatering reception menu had a particular highlight for the bride: the coconut wedding cake. “I have never tasted better!” she says.
After the romance and emotion of the ceremony, Paweena says everyone was ready to let loose together. “At our dinner and after-party, we were really happy to have our
family and friends together to play games and dance like crazy,” she says. “I didn’t worry about keeping my bridal ‘look’, I just wanted to enjoy this moment.”
And Paweena’s advice for other couples? “Just choose the celebration that you really love and don’t worry what others think. It’s your memories and your day.”
