Those sunset photos say it all! Kylee and Jason’s holiday wedding in Fiji was exactly as you’d picture a celebration in paradise — beautiful, relaxed, and infused with a dreamy tropical charm.Kylee & Jason at Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort - newlywed bride and groom at the beach during sunset (first)

The pair landed on a destination ‘I do’ after putting family at the heart of their planning journey. “With me being a Kiwi (New Zealander) and Jason being Australian, it was a nice way for all our guests from Australia and New Zealand to come together,” explains Kylee. “This way everyone was able to relax and take the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful holiday at the same time.”

After finding the Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort and delighting in its choice of ceremony and reception spaces, the couple chose the Bure Ni Loloma (House of Love) chapel. With Fijian-style architecture and expansive sea views from atop Lomalagi (Heavenly) Hill, it was bound to impress. “The chapel took our breath away, it was absolutely stunning,” says Kylee. “My favourite memory has to be walking down the aisle to my husband-to-be, with my dad and the Fijian warriors.”Kylee & Jason at Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort - images by Ocean Studio Fiji -wedding ceremony at the chapel (second)f

When it came time to party poolside in the Vahavu Restaurant area, the reception’s traditional Fijian Lovo barbeque proved a big hit with the couple and their guests. “It was mouthwatering, a must-have!” says the bride. Along with the (very busy) photo booth, the reception entertainment paved the way for the day’s funniest moments, as Kylee explains. “We had traditional Polynesian fire dancers, and after they finished their performance, they invited Jason and I plus about six other guests to a do ‘copy me’ dance,” she says. “Safe to say, our guests were extremely entertained.”

While organising a wedding from afar can seem daunting, this couple can vouch for that easy-breezy holiday wedding experience. “We didn’t find it challenging at all,” Kylee says. “The wedding planner and the resort team were accommodating in every way. We had absolutely no expectations for the wedding day itself and were blown away with a dream wedding: a fairy tale.” And the words of wisdom that really rang true on the day? “The best advice given to us was to trust the process,” says Kylee. “The Outrigger team are experts, and they sure do deliver!”

After the big day, good times kept flowing for the newlyweds and their nearest and dearest. “The best part about having a destination wedding was getting to enjoy a holiday before and after,” notes Kylee. “We were really relaxed before the wedding day and thoroughly enjoyed our family holiday afterwards.” The couple also spent two nights honeymooning at the Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay, safe in the knowledge that their two kids were having a ball with family back at the Outrigger Fiji.

The couple has returned home as Mr & Mrs — with precious memories still being shared amongst friends and family. “Our guests were wowed by every single thing the wedding had to offer,” says Kylee. “Our choreographed first dance, the photo booth, the staff, the food, the entertainment. You name it, they raved about it. So, if you’re considering a destination wedding, I highly recommend it. You won’t regret it.”
