When you picture paradise, do you see a long stretch of sand, crystal-clear waters and gently swaying palms? For Tahlia and Rick, their idea of paradise was just that, and they found it in Thailand at the luxurious Racha Resort. But Mother Nature had one more element to add to their dream tropical wedding: a strong gust of wind!
Just as Tahlia prepared to walk down the aisle to meet her sweetheart Rick at the postcard-perfect venue of The Racha resort in Phuket, Thailand, an erratic breeze picked up to escort her – which proved to be a bit of a challenge for the bride in a full gown and veil. “It was so windy,” laughs Tahlia as she recalls the moment. “My veil was going everywhere and it almost knocked over my bridesmaids!”
Thankfully, a few gusts of wind couldn’t dampen the joy of this couple’s big day. The ceremony, held on a platform overlooking Racha Island’s pristine beach and hugged by mountains, was an intimate moment shared with their 25 guests. “It was such a breathtaking location,” says Tahlia. “It really was the perfect setting. We loved being able to experience it all with our guests, and to share so many beautiful memories.”
Later, the wedding party moved to the resort’s stylish Fire Grill restaurant overlooking the beach, where Tahlia and Rick enjoyed plenty of dancing with their family and friends, and some truly delicious fare. “We loved every item on the menu,” says Tahlia. “We had a clear vision of what we wanted for our wedding reception and the team at The Racha were amazing. They made the whole experience a cinch!”
