THE KINGDOM OF THAILAND holds special meaning for this happy couple. Originally from Israel, Shelly met her Australian husband Matthew in this exotic paradise and it continued to serve as a base for their blossoming romance. “For a little while, we would meet up in Thailand because it’s halfway between Australia and Israel,” recalls Shelly. “We both love the people, culture and food.”
Bringing their families together here was an unforgettable experience. “I love that our wedding was such a special event for all our guests,” says Shelly. “Our families got to spend time together, got to know each other and travel together in one of the most beautiful places in the world.”
The Thai-inspired design and modern luxuries of Amari Koh Samui, located on a secluded stretch of Chaweng Beach, were ideal. After a joyful ceremony on the lawn overlooking the beach, petals and lamps led the way to a dreamy, intimate reception right on the sand. With glimmering fairy lights and a soothing soundtrack of gentle ocean waves, it was a magical setting for the couple’s first hours as newlyweds. “We were ecstatic with the end result – everything was above and beyond our expectations,” says Shelly, who notes, “We had a great wedding planner… Winnie took care of everything and made sure everything was perfect, not only for Matthew and me, but also for our guests.”
