Why did you choose a destination wedding?
We wanted to combine our wedding with a holiday to make it unforgettable.
Why did you select that destination and venue?
As we both love the sun and sea, Thailand seemed like the a good choice. We wanted somewhere with natural beauty, where our guests could relax. Alessandro and I holidayed at Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas in Krabi four years earlier, so we thought it would be perfect for our destination wedding – offering spectacular sea views and comfort in a wild natural environment.
How many guests attended and what was their reaction to you having a destination wedding?
We had about 80 guests attend and all of them shared our same enthusiasm for the beautiful location.
Your favourite memory of the day?
Alessandro: The view of my wife in her traditional Thai-style dress.
Mingkwan: The smiles and laughter of our guests and especially the groom’s best man crying after our thank you speech… everything was just perfect.
What was the best thing about having a destination wedding?
It’s like having the wedding and honeymoon at the same time, except that you have to take care of your guests and wedding arrangements too!
What was the theme of your wedding decorations?
Tropical, colourful decorations.
How did your wedding coordinator help you?
She was very professional and assisted with all logistics, planning, and coordinating with different resort departments – and always did this with a smile on her face.
