These Bali regulars couldn’t think of a better place to say “I Do.” Some places have a special hold on you, and for Jackie and Aidan, that place is Bali. Fond memories of their holidays on the island inspired them to celebrate their wedding in the spectacular destination. “We’ve always loved it there and have visited Bali once or twice a year,” explains Jackie. “We love Bali’s beaches, the sun and all the greenery – it’s a beautiful place, full of beautiful people. We talked about getting married there even before we were engaged!” Sold on the idea of a destination wedding in their happy place, the couple planned a celebration for 100 guests at Legian Beach’s Bali Mandira Beach Resort & Spa. And with so many friends and family travelling to Bali for the event, they made time to enjoy the destination with their nearest and dearest, kicking off the celebrations with a pre-wedding party at nearby Motel Mexicola.
With everyone in holiday-mode, Jackie and Aidan gathered guests once again at Bali Mandira’s stunning rooftop bar for an unforgettable ceremony. “The whole area was decorated with white flowers, white lanterns and the most magnificent floral arbour,” remembers Jackie. After exchanging vows overlooking the water, the newlyweds hit the beach for a fun photo session before returning to the rooftop for the reception. “The bar was transformed into a magical fairylight-lit scene,” says Jackie. “When we walked into the space there was a really fun song playing and our guests toasted us with a shot of their favourite spirit.” The couple and their guests enjoyed a delicious Indonesian-style feast – “the rendang beef curry was incredible,” Jackie notes – then hit the dance floor. “Everything was just so much more beautiful than I could have ever imagined,” says Jackie. “Seeing all our favourite people in our favourite place was truly amazing.” After declaring their love for each other in the tropical destination, Jackie and Aidan say that Bali is now even more special to them. “It’s always been one of our favourite places in the world and now it will forever hold an important place in our hearts.”
