The Venue
What are the main reasons couples choose Grand Hyatt Bali for their destination wedding?
The Pavilion Garden, set against the backdrop of Nusa Dua Beach, creates a setting that feels both magical and genuinely serene. Beyond the views, it’s the flexibility that couples keep coming back to – every detail is curated around their individual vision, not the other way around.
Where’s your favourite spot at the resort for a stunning wedding photo?
The Pavilion Garden and the white sandy beach that fronts it. The combination of lush tropical garden and open ocean is difficult to beat.
What’s the most Instagrammable spot at the resort?
Almost every corner has its moment, but the lotus pond at the lobby is something special – serene, beautifully framed, and if you’re there at the right time, you may even capture the birds that visit the area. For something more intimate, the Kriya Spa offers calming architecture, water features and a quietly luxurious atmosphere that photographs beautifully.
What’s the best room for the wedding night and why?
Villa Beratan, the resort’s two-bedroom pool villa. The master bedroom and bathroom give the bride plenty of space to get ready in comfort; the second bedroom handles the groom’s more straightforward preparations. The generous living room means the bridal party can all be together for those pre-ceremony moments – supported by a dedicated butler throughout. And crucially, Villa Beratan sits just steps from both the beach and garden venues, so there’s no last-minute rush on the morning that matters most.
What’s the one thing couples get at Grand Hyatt Bali that they won’t find anywhere else?
The harmony of Bali’s natural beauty and genuine Balinese warmth, held together by a resort that manages to feel both grand and deeply personal. Waking up to the Nusa Dua shoreline, walking through tropical gardens, being welcomed with real sincerity – and celebrating one of life’s biggest moments in a place where every detail is cared for. That combination is rare.
What are some of the chef’s specialities for a wedding menu?
The Indonesian and Asian cuisine menus are where the kitchen truly shines. Couples who lean into the local flavours are never disappointed.
What’s the most glamorous experience a couple can enjoy at the resort?
Villa Beratan for the preparation and the wedding night; Kriya Spa for those quiet moments of calm before or after the celebration; an intimate private dinner; and a wedding day where nothing is left to chance. The Grand Hyatt Bali’s signature is a completely stress-free experience – and that, for many couples, is the real luxury.
The Planner’s Insights
What’s the biggest misconception couples have about planning a destination wedding in Bali?
That it will be more stressful or complicated than planning a wedding at home. In reality, it’s often the opposite. Most couples are surprised by how streamlined and relaxed the process is – particularly at a full-service resort where the onsite team, the vendors and the processes are all already in place. You don’t need to manage every tiny detail from abroad; that’s what we’re here for.
What’s the strangest wedding request you’ve ever had – and did you deliver?
A bride who was determined to watch her fireworks on the beach – even though the weather had turned stormy and the celebration had already moved indoors. It wasn’t an easy call, but her wish meant everything to her.
So they made it happen. The fireworks went ahead on the beach; umbrellas were organised; the couple and their guests were escorted outside. They came back soaked and laughing. The air-conditioning was turned off, hot tea was served, warm towels were handed around. And the bride cried – not because of the rain, but because her one special moment had still come true.
What do wedding couples almost always forget?
Their wedding rings. And sometimes their vows.
What’s your best piece of advice for couples planning their destination wedding?
Visit the venue. Photos will always look beautiful, but no image can replicate the feeling of actually being there – the light, the air, the sense of place. That chemistry is real, and it matters.
What’s the most memorable thing a couple has ever said to you after their wedding day?
It didn’t come from the couple. It came from the mother of the groom.
During her prayer before the ceremony, she paused, looked directly at Resita, and asked her God to bless her.
“I wasn’t expecting it at all,” she says. And that’s the moment she carries with her.
About Resita
Resita came to wedding planning driven by something simple: a love of watching people celebrate. “It’s the feeling when everything comes together beautifully, love fills the air… and you get paid to witness it.” After years at the Grand Hyatt Bali, that feeling clearly hasn’t faded.
Resita’s Insider Tip for Bali
Wake up early – really early – and experience Bali before the world wakes up.
A quiet walk along the Nusa Dua beach path around 6am will show you a side of Bali that most visitors sleep through entirely. The ocean is calm, the light is soft, the air is cool; it’s the authentic Bali rhythm that doesn’t appear in brochures. If you’re feeling adventurous, rent a bike and follow the full Nusa Dua promenade – hidden coves, art installations, temples and some of the cleanest shoreline on the island.
Afterwards, find a local warung for breakfast. Bubur ayam, nasi jinggo, a simple coffee. The flavours, the smiles, the unhurried pace – that’s the Bali the locals grew up with, and the version worth seeking out.
