What’s the strangest request you’ve ever had for a wedding – and did you deliver?!
“The strangest request would have to be a groom wanting to skydive to his own wedding ceremony. Not only was this enough of a challenge, it also was to be his first skydive! At TW we pride ourselves on giving couples the wedding of their dreams, so after working out all the logistics with the local skydiving company we made this groom’s dream a reality and watched on (with butterflies in our stomachs!) as we saw our groom in his wedding suit parachute down into his ceremony.”
What’s the one thing wedding couples always forget to bring or do?
“Being a tropical location a lot of couples don’t think to check the tide times, but that’s what they have us for – to think of all these things for them.”
What’s the most glamorous/luxurious thing couples want to do in the Whitsundays?
“Luxury is something the Whitsundays does well. Our most popular packages include a private helicopter transfer for the couple from the airport to the helipad, followed by a privately chauffeured luxury transfer to their five-star accommodation with sparkling wine and a cheese and fruit platter on their arrival. It also features all the usual wedding inclusions, two private his-and-hers helicopters to the ceremony location, followed by a private dinner with their own waiter.”
What’s the best piece of advice you’d give a couple planning a destination wedding?
“Hire a wedding planner! Let the professionals who know the area, know the best suppliers and just have a wealth of local knowledge help you make the best decisions for your day.”
What’s the most memorable feedback you’ve ever received from a happy bride and groom?
“We receive so many beautiful emails and gifts, but the one that blew us away was when a couple included a picture of myself with them in their wedding album. They said I was more a part of their wedding day than the guests and that, to them, I was now family. This couple often come back to the Whitsundays for holidays and always made a point of contacting me for a catch-up.”
