Why did you choose a destination wedding?
We chose a Bali wedding because of the lovely warm weather and affordable packages. We were already holidaying in Bali with our family and thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to have a private and special blessing ceremony there with our children present.
Why did you select that venue?
After meeting with Shanti, our wedding coordinator, we felt we were in great hands. She made it all affordable and gave us confidence that everything could be arranged in such a short time. The rooftop pool was a serene and peaceful setting, and on the day we surprised by all the flowers, lanterns and decorations that made it look extra special! The rooftop is also very private, so we had it all to ourselves during the ceremony, photos and wedding dinner. The staff at Sun Island make everything so happy and easy and you feel like nothing is too much trouble.
Did you have guests attend?
Only our children attended, and they were thrilled and excited for us.
What is your favourite memory of the day?
I remember our children’s happy faces, the romantic ambience, and the lovely and delicious dinner set up on the “flower road” alongside the pool.
What theme or style did you base your wedding decorations or decor?
We based our decorations on Bali frangipanis.
How did your coordinator help you?
Shanti and her team made our day very special and stress-free as everything ran smoothly. We surprised our children with what we were planning two days before the blessing ceremony and they enjoyed all the excitement and preparation leading up to the day. It’s definitely a holiday that Wayne, myself and the kids will never forget.
What was the best thing about having a destination wedding?
Everything was very romantic, calming, beautiful and enjoyable.
