Here’s a situation for you: you’re planning a wedding in tropical North Queensland and you can’t decide between a beach or a garden wedding. You’re going to have to make a compromise, right? For Megan and Alex, it was this decision that ultimately led to their dream wedding. “We couldn’t choose between the two but then we came across Villa Botanica,” says Megan. “It offered the best of both worlds, plus a wedding coordinator to help plan everything – meaning less stress for us!” We’re sold.
Saying “I do” in the venue’s lush gardens and with breathtaking views of the Great Barrier Reef in the background, Megan and Alex went on to enjoy a dinner party-style reception and really let their hair down. “One of our guests lost his tie after some crazy dance moves and, sadly, had to leave without it,” explains Megan. “The lovely staff luckily found it in a tree the next morning – he was ecstatic!”
A beautiful celebration filled with plenty of laughter and dancing, the couple’s Airlie Beach wedding was topped off with a post-wedding holiday with loved ones. “We stayed at Pinnacles Resort nearby so we could hang out with our guests for a bit longer,” says Megan. “It was so great and people are still telling us how amazing everything was!”
