WEDDING: ABBY & SCOTT AT THE TONGSAI BAY, KOH SAMUI

WE ALL HAVE A DREAM DESTINATION that we keep promising ourselves we’ll visit one day, and for Abbey and Scott, that was Thailand. “We have always wanted to go, so we thought, why not get married there?” says Abby. “We did a lot of research and fell in love with Koh Samui.”

A breathtaking resort set within 28 acres of verdant jungle, The Tongsai Bay delivered everything the couple were looking for in a wedding venue. “We were amazed by the beautiful scenery, gorgeous weather and the sound of the waves crashing in the background,” says Abby.

The Tongsai Bay’s private and peaceful beach was the perfect setting for Abbey and Scott’s vows. They sealed their love in front of an intimate group of 20 friends and family members. “I didn’t want to see my bride until the last moment, so I kept looking out at the sea to calm my nerves,” recalls Scott. “I could feel the warmth of the sun and the sound of the waves as I waited – it was incredible.”

After their emotional ceremony beneath a delicate arch of pink and white blossoms, the newlyweds joined their guests for a memorable reception where the drinks were flowing and the music had everyone in high spirits. “We had the Po-Lad Beach Bistro and Bar for the reception to ourselves and our guests,” says Abbey. “The food was amazing and we tried a little bit of everything – but the stir-fry cooked right in front of us by the chef was a real highlight of the night.”

The evening was full of laughter and heartfelt moments as the sun set on the sparkling waters of Koh Samui. “After we cut the cake, Scott and I sat on the beach with a glass of Champagne and watched all of our friends and family having fun,” says Abbey. “It was a day that not just us, but also our guests, will remember forever.”
