A CHIC BLACK AND WHITE PALETTE, gorgeous lace details, a breathtaking backdrop and a surprise dance routine. These were just a few of the treats in store for guests who travelled from Australia and within Indonesia to honour this intimate “I do”, on the same enchanting island where the bride first pledged “I will!”

After exchanging vows in Conrad Bali’s spectacular ‘floating’ chapel, Alexis and Jason embraced the holiday vibe with a magical open-air reception. “Having everyone we love away from their daily lives, to celebrate our love, was the most amazing feeling,” says Alexis. That upbeat spirit spilled onto the dance floor when the father-daughter dance was interrupted for a surprise routine by Jason and his friends. Full of the bride’s favourite songs, “It was the best, funniest, most amazing moment of the day!” laughs Alexis. Another highlight? The reception menu: “We love the flavour, spice and complexity of Indonesian food and wanted our guests to experience that too,” Alexis explains.

While she admits she wished she’d visited the venue a few more times before the wedding, Alexis says an early trip and taking lots of photos made it easier to plan and visualise her big day. The key was a fabulous wedding planner, Yulia, who counselled the couple not to stress about the details. “Our wedding planner told us to leave it to them – which we did – and everything worked out perfectly!”

After the event, the newlyweds and their families kept the good times flowing at the Conrad. “The resort truly felt like home after the wedding,” says Alexis. “The staff were so friendly, making our stay memorable.”
