Sukun Tunmaneeprasert has a particular way of thinking about what she does. “Every couple has a unique rhythm,” she says, “and my role is to bring that rhythm to life.” As Assistant Director of Sales & Events at Silavadee Pool Spa Resort on Koh Samui, she has spent years doing exactly that – turning individual visions into beautifully curated celebrations at one of Thailand’s most quietly spectacular hillside resorts. We put our questions to her.
Venue Snapshot
Venue: Silavadee Pool Spa Resort
Location: Koh Samui, Thailand
Website: silavadeeresort.com
In five words: Secret beach. Intimate. Luxurious. Private.
The Venue
What are the main reasons couples choose Silavadee for their destination wedding?
The scenery does a great deal of the heavy lifting. Breathtaking ocean views, genuine privacy, natural beauty – Silavadee’s setting creates the luxury wedding atmosphere before a single detail has been arranged. The resort’s own “Secret Beach” is the centrepiece: intimate, secluded and unlike anything couples will find elsewhere on the island.
Where’s your favourite spot at the resort for a stunning wedding photo?

The Sundeck venue, which serves as both ceremony and reception space. Elevated above the ocean with uninterrupted views, it frames every photograph naturally.
What’s the most Instagrammable spot at the resort?
The tailor-made premium floral display set against the ocean backdrop. The combination of bespoke florals and that particular shade of blue makes for a striking image – the kind couples’ guests are still talking about long after the day.
What’s the best room for the wedding night and why?
The Oceanfront Pool Villa or Oceanfront Pool Villa Suite. Both offer complete privacy, panoramic sea views and the kind of luxurious amenities that make the night after a wedding feel like the beginning of something, not just the end of a very long day.
What’s the one thing couples get at Silavadee that they won’t find anywhere else?

A deeply immersive, private luxury experience where nature, design and exclusivity work together seamlessly. The resort sits apart from the noise of Koh Samui’s busier stretches; that sense of seclusion is woven into everything.
What are some of the chef’s specialities for a wedding menu?
Sukun describes the kitchen’s signature approach as Modern Classics – plated with precision, rooted in quality, and designed to feel both elegant and genuinely satisfying.
What’s the most glamorous experience a couple can enjoy at the resort?
The “Sunrise” celebration – an intimate, private event at first light that Sukun describes as a breathtaking start to married life. For couples who want something beyond the ceremony itself, it’s a moment that few resorts could replicate.
The Planner’s Insights
What’s the biggest misconception couples have about planning a destination wedding in Thailand?

That a beach wedding is simple. In practice, the natural elements that make a beach ceremony so beautiful – the light, the wind, the tide – require careful and experienced planning to work with rather than against. The results are worth it; the preparation behind them is never as effortless as it looks.
What’s the strangest wedding request you’ve ever had – and did you deliver?
A six-metre gazebo structure that the couple described simply as “spectacular.” It was delivered exactly as requested – and by all accounts, spectacular is precisely what it was.
What do wedding couples almost always forget?
To eat before the ceremony. The excitement and nerves of the morning tend to push meals aside – and by the time the reception arrives, couples are running on adrenaline alone. Sukun always makes a point of reminding them.
What’s your best piece of advice for couples planning their destination wedding?

Prioritise the guest experience over Pinterest perfection. A wedding is a living, breathing event – how it feels matters far more than how it photographs. The couples who enjoy their day most are the ones who stay present for it.
What’s the most memorable thing a couple has ever said to you after their wedding day?
“We looked at each other halfway through and realised – this is exactly what we dreamed of.”
About Sukun
“I’ve always believed that the best work is rooted in passion,” says Sukun. “Creating meaningful experiences for people is what drives me.” It’s a philosophy that shapes everything about how she approaches a wedding – from the first enquiry to the final toast.
If your best friend called you tomorrow and said she was thinking about a destination wedding, what’s the one piece of advice you’d give her that she won’t find on any website?
The “Invisible Guest” approach: focus on how the day feels, not just how it looks. Think about what your guests will experience – the flow of the evening, the small moments between the big ones, the way people feel when they’re with you. That’s what a wedding actually is.
Sukun’s Insider Tip for Koh Samui
Go beyond the beach clubs. Koh Samui has quieter, less visited corners that most tourists never find – spots where the island feels more like itself and less like a destination. For couples bringing family and friends, those hidden gems are often what people remember most about the trip.
