Real Life Wedding: Bianca & Michael – Airlie Beach

Bianca Petterson and Michael Nasser married on 10 May 2013 at Villa Botanica, Airlie Beach. The couple chose to have an intimate ceremony followed by a cocktail-style reception as they love to mingle, dance and party!

Why did you select that venue?

I was at home alone one night and decided to take a look at some wedding websites. It took all of five minutes for my heart to be set on Villa Botanica – my dream wedding venue!

What theme or style did you base your wedding decorations on?

The decor was modern and romantic to tie in with the magical ambience of Villa Botanica. For the seaside ceremony we chose white chair covers and sashes, and the garden decor was stunning with cafe-style cubed lounges covered with beautiful white drapes and candles on each table. Our reception on Villa Botanica’s verandah was absolutely perfect. Each cocktail table was dotted with candles and sparkling crystals, and draped in white with a stunning bouquet of flowers that complemented my bouquet – it was just like a fairytale.2232

How did your wedding coordinator help you?

Gemma was an AMAZING wedding coordinator and we can’t thank her enough. She helped us orchestrate all details, ensuring that we stayed on schedule and everyone was in the right place at the right time – which is so important when you only have so many hours to fit in so many things. From the early planning stages, through to months of phone calls and emails, through to the actual perfect day… she was there with us all the way. Not only was she our coordinator, but I now call her a friend.42

Where did you honeymoon?

We spent five nights at the beautiful Qualia on Hamilton Island. It was slice of heaven!
